These Places Deserve a Spot on Your Summer Destinations List


If you’re interested in an experience with wildlife, then this is the place for you. Oslob is popular for the whale sharks, which have become attractions to local and foreign tourists alike. You get to swim with the sharks (literally!), but not before you’re oriented by experts on the do’s and don’t’s. It’s an interesting experience that’ll leave you in awe of nature’s beauty.

How to get there: Get on a bus at Cebu South Bus Terminal going to Bato via Liloan, and tell the conductor that you’re stopping at Oslob.

Travel time: 3 hours

Bantayan Island

Located on the northern tip of Cebu, Bantayan Island, it’s made up of three municipalities: Bantayan, Santa Fe and Madridejos. All three municipalities have many sights to offer, from getaways to the beach to beautiful sunsets.

How to get there: Get on a bus at Cebu North Bus Terminal going to Hagnaya Port in the town of San Remigio. From there, you get on a ferry that goes straight to Bantayan Island.

Travel time: 3 hours


Another popular spot, Moalboal is a small coastal town in the southwest. It’s one of the best spots to go snorkeling or diving, as it has a rich marine life. If you’re not up for that, then you can simply relax on its unspoiled white sand beaches.

How to get there: Get on a bus at Cebu South Bus Terminal going to Moalboal via Barili or Badian. 

Travel time: 3 hours 

Mactan Island

This one, you won’t have to travel far for. Mactan Island has many beaches to offer, just an hour’s drive away. Many beach resorts offer great services and amenities here.

How to get there: Take a taxi and tell the driver you’re bound for Mactan Island. 

Travel time: 45 minutes-1 hour
